This isn’t tonight’s quote, but have you ever heard someone use the line, “keep your dreams hidden or someone will just shoot them down!” — followed by some cocky nonsense implying that they are simply a lion waiting to pounce and their peers are prey.
What do lions eat?
I find that these people are normally so full of shit it spills all over my keyboard. I use Facebook to check the latest memes and sometimes network, not get condescended by “marketing experts” and “influencers”.

Being an entrepreneur, business person, or visionary in general, shouldn’t mean hiding your opinions in an attempt to eliminate the chance of others objecting to them. The approach I take is quite contrary to this.
Follow the path of the unsafe, independent thinker. Expose your ideas to the dangers of controversy. Speak your mind and fear less the label of ‘crack-pot’ than the stigma of conformity. And on issues that seem important to you, stand up and be counted at any cost.Thomas J. Watson

The most valuable parts of a journey are the things that happen to you on the way to your destination. Hiding the parts of the story where the good stuff happens is an act of selfishness that can be costly to the greater good of our society.
If you don’t mind being selfish, consider that keeping an idea to yourself also leaves you blind to much-needed criticism. If we hold too tightly to our dreams, it is entirely possible that we may end up with a swollen air of confidence.
The unsafe thinker often happens to have the most valuable ideas. If people wish to label you as crazy, so be it.
If your friends hope to see you fail, accept it.
The important part of making progress should be creating an authentic message and finding the people who are willing to listen. Create what you want to create and those who find displeasure in your actions will organically fall out of your life.
Freedom is about more than being allowed to vote in elections and own guns.
Freedom includes the right to put your ideas out into the world and watch them grow. If we don’t cultivate our dreams as a community, chances are we’ll end up with a bunch of stuff that only we like.
Your vision could be tailored to benefit the entire world, but only if you want it to be.
